Dimensions may refer to:

Vanilla dimensions

  • The Overworld: The original dimension in Minecraft. Its ID is 0.
  • The Nether: This is relatively hostile dimension in which Lava and both neutral and hostile Mobs are everywhere. Its ID is -1.
  • The End: The dark dimension with a large floating "island" made of End Stone and towers of Obsidian topped with End Crystals. Its ID is 1.
  • Sky Dimension: An early beta feature which was planned to be in the Adventure Update. This was supposed to be a floating land in the sky. Other mods have attempted to re-create this, however, these are not compatible with Minecraft Forge.

Other Mod dimensions

  • The Aether: A floating land on the sky which is similar to the Sky Dimension.
  • The Eternal Frost: A world that is the complete inverse of The Nether, with Ice and Snow replacing Lava and Netherrack. It's ID is 4.
  • The Twilight Forest: A fairy-tale world in which trees have covered most of the world. This dimension is a feature of the Twilight Forest Mod. It's ID is 7.
  • Ages: A customized world accessible by crafting a Linking Book. This is a feature of Mystcraft. Mystcraft will use any unused Dimension IDs, starting from the first vacant ID, usually 2 for most Minecraft installations.
